References Management

All references submitted to the Journal of Social Governance and Public Administration (SOGPA) must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition citation style. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all references are accurate, complete, relevant, and consistently formatted.

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as:

  • Mendeley
  • Zotero
  • EndNote

Authors should ensure that:

  • Every in-text citation has a corresponding entry in the reference list.
  • Every reference listed is cited in the manuscript.
  • All references are accurate and relevant to the research.
  • DOI information is included whenever available.
  • Recent and relevant scholarly literature is prioritized, particularly publications from the last 5–10 years, where appropriate.
  • Important seminal or foundational works may be cited when they are directly relevant to the theoretical or conceptual foundation of the study.
  • References should primarily come from credible scholarly sources, including peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, official regulations, policy documents, and authoritative institutional sources where appropriate.
  • Citations must accurately represent the content and contribution of the cited sources.

Authors are responsible for verifying bibliographic information, including author names, publication year, article title, journal title, volume, issue, page numbers, and DOI or URL where applicable.

Authors are encouraged to consider relevant articles previously published in SOGPA when such publications directly contribute to the topic, theoretical framework, methodology, or discussion of the manuscript. However, citations to SOGPA articles must be based on academic relevance and scholarly contribution and must not be included solely to increase citation counts or journal metrics.

The Editorial Board may request authors to correct incomplete, inaccurate, irrelevant, or improperly formatted references before publication.
